Wayne Musselwhite has been involved in the credit bureau and collection business since 1980, when he purchased the Credit Bureau of Tuscaloosa and later added the Collections Division and renamed the company Credit Bureau Systems Inc (CBSi). CBSi acquired other credit bureaus and collection agencies and soon grew to be an industry leader in the field. Under Wayne’s leadership, CBSi was the first to automate collections to a cardless collection system. He later introduced an automated predictive dialer system which employed the latest technology and produced superior results for clients.
In 1987, Wayne founded AccuChek, a national check collection/verification company. With extensive experience in the application of analytics and decision sciences within credit and collections, AccuChek grew to become 1 of the top 3 collection/verification companies in the nation. At this time, AccuChek was the application service provider to 15 of the top 20 national retailers. In 2001, AccuChek was sold to Certegy, a publically traded company.
Wayne has led the charge in creating and developing many successful companies throughout his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of CBSi. Wayne founded EBO, Inc, a medical billing company, that sold in 1995 to MedPartner, which is a publically traded company. He also established Accufile, a mortgage reporting company that he sold to Equifax in 2002.

Wayne graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974 and has resided in Tuscaloosa with his wife and three children since 1979.

Bet Laycock joined CBSi as a Relationship Manager in April 2012, and provides strategic and consultative support to clients throughout north Alabama and Mississippi. She enjoys understanding client’s goals and working to develop and prove a solution by utilizing TransUnion products. Since graduating from the University of Alabama, she has excelled as a Graphic Designer and as a National Sales Manager for Randall-Reilly Publishing Company. Bet currently resides in Tuscaloosa with her dog Piper. When she’s not busy working, she loves spending time with her friends and family, traveling, running, and watching Alabama football.

Emily Patton has been a Relationship Manager for CBSi since October of 2012 and joined us after excelling as a National Recruiter for Stein Mart in Jacksonville, FL. Emily appreciates the personal interaction she has with her clients and loves TransUnion’s ability to find solutions to help them grow their businesses. After graduating from The University of Alabama, Emily remained in Tuscaloosa with her husband Abner and they have two sons, Edward and Will. She is the President of The Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society, very active with her sorority Delta, Delta, Delta, and enjoys Alabama football games and spending time with her dog Zollie.

Renay Bruce has been a Relationship Manager with CBSi since 2000 and has worked in the Credit Bureau industry for over 20 years. She is determined to always help clients find solutions to any problems they encounter. Renay utilizes her knowledge and tenure in the field to assist our clients in the Southwest portion of Alabama. She resides in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama and enjoys college football, visiting friends and family, and spending time with her daughter Megan, who is currently attending Auburn University.

Hope Bain began her career with CBSi after the company acquired her sales territory in 2001. She is our Virginia based Relationship Manager and is passionate about growing her customers’ book of business and finding ways for them to become more profitable. Consulting with clients gives her the opportunity to help them identify where they can make improvements, become more efficient and be more successful. Hope resides in Virginia and when she’s not working, she can be found running, biking, hiking, or attending a sporting event. She is a Certified Soccer Referee and she and her husband enjoy volunteering at their local cold weather shelter.

Erika Larson is the newest addition to the CBSi team and works as a Sales Associate for CBSi-Insight. A former General Manager for a local staffing company, Erika has over 10 years of sales experience. She is passionate about providing the best customer experience through superior customer service and strong client relationships. Erika is originally from Memphis, but has called Tuscaloosa home for 8 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband Lee and their two dogs.

Kerry Chesnut is the Director of Commercial Sales for both CBSi Collections and CBSi-Insight. A prior Branch Manager at Cadence Bank, Kerry has worked in sales for years before heading up our collection and background screening sales efforts at CBSi. Kerry likes that CBSi affords her the opportunity to form relationships with clients from all over the country and looks forward to helping customers with all aspects of growing and protecting their business. She met her husband Nic while pursuing her degree in Public Relations at The University of Alabama. They love nothing more than Alabama football and their Boxer, Bertie Mae.

Peggy Mahony provides administrative support for the CBSi team, and brings experience she gained working three years in the Finance Department of Mobile Gas Service Corporation and eleven years in collections for a grocery store chain. She started at CBSi in March 2001 after relocating to Tuscaloosa. She now resides in her hometown of Mobile, AL where she enjoys Alabama Football and taking care of her two Dachshunds, Dasher & Donner.

Amanda Musselwhite recently signed on as a Relationship Manager for the Collections Division of CBSi. She comes to us from Nashville, where she was working as Pharmaceutical Representative for AstraZeneca.
